These series of players are very well made and very affordable (especially the Clip).

What I really like about these media players is that they come in already high capacities at such a low price, rarely do they ever have a problem and will ever break on you. A very notable thing with these media players is that you can use microSD or microSDHC cards to expand the memory of the device. Not many players come with this feature and it is a very handy feature so that you don’t spend more money on a player with more storage like you would with any other player. They also feature a FM Radio and Voice recorder for reminders.

Sony Walkman MP3 player series:

Personally I own one of these players and I believe that the Equalizer in this player is superior to those of the iPod. It has different knobs that change and the sound to your likes. If you like more bass in your music, the Walkman gives you a really crisp bass called (sure enough) “Clear Bass” which you can find in the Equalizer settings of this player. This brand of player sports some premium quality earphones  made specifically for the Walkman series. They sound very amazing considering those earphones alone are more than $40.

The best part is that you are not tied to a service to get your music, like the iPod you forced to sync with iTunes (even though you can). You can sync from your desktop or from any other application that can sync devices like doubleTwist or WinAmp. But there is one VERY negative thing with this player, that is that Sony decided to use its own WM-Port proprietary connection, a simple mini-USB would of been amazing, but that is not the case. These devices do not freeze up and tend to last longer than Apple products. This is a fact because after a year with my iPod Nano I started to notice that the top of the player wanted to come off, also rendering the “Hold” button useless. The newer models of Walkman feature a speaker, one player in particular, has flash memory built into the headphone so that you can store music right on the headphone, it is perfect for fitness fanatics who are tired of the iPod Nano armbands.

Those are great alternatives to the mighty iPod, and there are many ways to handle your media as easily as you would with an iPod. I hope that this post has been helpful for you trying to decide between and iPod or these devices. Remember, they don’t support apps like an iPod Touch or iPhone. Don’t just buy a device for app support!

At around 9:41 AM (CST) this morning the account of a Treyarch developer @JD_2020 posted the following…

Yes, today the folks at Treyarch have released a multiplayer teaser trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops. Folks, I  must say that Treyarch has out done themselves, the killstreaks are better and the weapons are just amazing.

In the beginning of the video if you look to the top left corner, you will see that there is a surveillance camera being shown and it is showing an enemy, the player sees the enemy on the camera, the player kills the enemy and takes out the camera.

The camera might seem pretty handy but one problem I see with it is that it will be a way for campers to get ready when they see an incoming enemy.

Throughout the video you see 3 killstreaks only. If you get three kills you get this RC Car bomb that you can navigate through enemies and explode the car resulting in higher casualties, its strange to see that there is not a UAV online. After four kills you get a care package, just like in MW2 you get a random killstreak. After 4 kills you get a rocket, they didn’t show footage on this rocket but my guess is that it will act like a predator missile like in MW2.

Two weapons that really stood out to me are a crossbow where you can shoot an explosive at an enemy and it will blow up killing them kind of like the torque bow in Gears of War 2 only you won’t have to recharge it. Another one is a weapon that shoots knives, after you are done shooting the knife you can wield two knives and stab an enemy with both of them at the same time. Insane.

You still have everything almost the same as MW2 only Callsigns and emblems are a little different and the action on the field is more chaotic, for example there is a rocket shooting being fired right in the middle of a match making you go “OMFG WHERE’S THAT ROCKETS GOING!?” (Not really.)

Lastly, near the end of a video there was a message that said “Full Multiplayer Reveal September 1st – Follow @JD_2020″ and at the very end of the video you see a video being edited almost like Halo’s In-Game recording software where you can edit a montage together! (I am guessing)

The Title Screen

So indeed this is a Halo game that is not made by Bungie OR by the new developers of Halo games 404 Industries, but it was developed by former Microsoft VP Ed Fries who used to work on Project Xbox. What he did was take the major levels of Halo: Combat Evolved and condensed them into very small levels in Atari 2600  graphics.

The combat is really simple all you need to do is find a pistol (Magnum Pistol) and you are off to the races. You move around with the directional keys, and you shoot with the space bar, very simple, fun and addicting only without the action.

This game does not come with a story because it doesn’t really need one. If you are familiar with the Halo franchise then you will recognize some of the venues.

One thing that really bothers me about this game is when ever you die after exhausting all 2 lives you are forced to restart from the very beginning, but I did take in mind that a game like this would do that back in the day.

But in my humble opinion I think that this game is a pretty good game because it connects both the new school and the old school with really basic and addicting gameplay.

I give this game two thumbs up because it is not a horrendous game, one would only say that if they did not truly appreciate the art of video games and are looking for flashy graphics and over the top gameplay.

This was pretty disheartening because to be honest, Wave was a very good idea. One could post documents and other files in real-time, also showing letter by letter in real-time as people typed and edited other “Waves” right before your eyes.

I believe that Google Wave was never dead, but the hype was what kicked the bucket. It wasn’t the application itself because it was a great tool if you knew how to use it effectively. The integration of bots and other gadgets in to Google Wave made it even more easier to use.

Sometimes, Google Wave was kind of clunky and challenging to use. For example, you cannot just post a YouTube video as easy as pasting the HTML code into the wave. You actually needed a gadget so that the HTML code can work on a wave and display it. Sometimes the bots did not work like they were supposed to and you didn’t know what to blame! Maybe that could of been a problem. Or maybe the tool was just too ahead of its time.

Google had positioned Wave to be a tool and they did it well. They just seemed to of gotten everyone’s hopes up because users got something that they were not expecting. Therefore a large quantity of people that were expecting something different just left Wave altogether.

Now there are a couple of questions in mind. What will ever happened to the organizations Google said that they were going to provide Google Wave as a means of communication? Who knows. What will happen to the Google Wave development team after developing a great tool? Who knows.

But one thing is for sure, and that is that Google will keep Google Wave up as long as possible so that users will still be able to produce new waves as usual, just don’t expect anything new to be added on to Wave. So Google Wave users you have nothing to fret, Wave will still be up only Google will not do anything new to the tool.

But is Jailbreaking really worth it? This is the definite (indefinite) response that you will always get.

Depends.

Jailbreaking totally depends on if you need more out of your iPhone and are willing to risk saving your iPhone back to the way it was. But Jailbreaking does have its benefits.

For example, you can use things like FaceTime over a 3G connection by tricking your iPhone that it is using a Wi-Fi connection when in reality you are using your 3G connection.

Now if you are not informed on this Cydia jailbreaking app I urge you to look to other blogs for what this application can do to your iPhone. But if you do have some background on what it does, lets keep talking.

Now Cydia seems to be adding more and more apps to their own store, but it sucks for Apple having to see their customers not buying their apps, but instead buying from Cydia’s app store.

What I will think happen in the near future is that Apple will want to compete with Cydia and will provide the same apps that Cydia has, except that they will be crappy and probably more expensive. Maybe Apple will learn from their competitors and will add in features people really want to see on their iPhone that they would only receive if they jailbroke their phones.

This is only a prediction, its not official… yet.

But if you are in real need of 3G for your FaceTime calls, and if you need more room in your folders so you can hold more than 12 apps, go ahead and jailbreak it, you have nothing to lose because it is now legal. Now, if you are not in need of these features don’t jailbreak it, you goody two shoes you.

As if your Twitter client did enough for you already by updating your tweets every couple of seconds, TweetDeck and Echofon have unleashed a new application allowing you to receive tweets in real time.

From first hand experience the technology put behind these clients have impressed me very much, no other Twitter client can give you tweets as fast as both the Pro verision of Echofon and the Beta version of TweetDeck – User Stream Preview.

The tweets come in so fast that not even TweetDeck itself can’t keep up with the notifications. Now I repeat that TweetDeck’s real time version is only allowed for up to 5,000 people to be able to use it, fortunately me and a couple of friends on Twitter got a hold of the beta.

Echofon’s Pro version is already using this technology only you have to pay $20 USD in order to be able to use it. I strongly recommend that you wait for when TweetDeck releases it to the public, if you cannot wait and you happen to have a Mac, more power to you if you buy the $20 app.

Other than that the new TweetDeck might make you think about getting another monitor just for TweetDeck itself. It looks really neat just watching all of those tweets show up there as soon as a Twitter user hits Enter.

The interface has not changed a bit since the newest version of TweetDeck and it still has those same great features like URL shortening and picture uploading right from the client.

Besides the TweetDeck client not being available readily I give the new TweetDeck a 4 out of 5. That might change when the finished product comes out, I am really impressed so far.
